Golden Retrievers were named as such because, basically, they have golden fur and because they are good at retrieving things that are thrown away.
But it would seem like Golden Retrievers are not only good in getting balls, sticks and other things that were thrown away, they are also quite skillful when it comes to retrieving a drowning man, or in this video, a man who pretends to be drowning.
Meet Charlie, he is the Golden Retriever in this video. If he sees anyone face down in the water, he will come running and he will swim through the waters to get you and bring you to safety.
